Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
What amazing words to hear from Jehovah! Our God: the self-existent, all-knowing, all-powerful, creator of things said these words. It is comforting to know that the TRUE God thinks about me, His child! How humbling to know that God thinks of me all the time yet I struggle to think of Him during my day.
Notice the thoughts He has about us. They are thoughts of peace! God wants His children to have peace which results in happiness and joy! Our God wants His child to be at peace; which each other, with family, with friends, with ourselves and with Him! Also notice that God does not think evil toward us. How amazing is that! All the stupid and sinful things that I do each and everyday that bring shame to Him, yet God doesn’t think evil of me, He still wants me to have peace. What an awesome God.
Finally, what is the result of this peace? An expected end! Think of it this way, because of God’s peace we have hope and a future! We have the hope of forgiveness and the future of eternal life with Him in heaven one day. Why? Because we can have peace with God because of His Son Jesus Christ.
