Romans 6:14 – For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
What a wonderful verse and great hope for mankind. A people we were born under the bondage of sin, because of the original sin of Adam and Eve, sin passed upon all people. No one is free from this burden of sin! All have sinned and come short of the glory of God! But the verse tells us that sin shall not have dominion over us!
How? By the grace of God! God’s grace is what frees us from the bondage of sin. “For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, not of works lest many man should boast.” Through our faith in Jesus and God’s grace we are set free from the great burden of sin. Sin and the law bring bondage, but grace brings freedom and hope.
Trying to obey all the laws does not bring freedom only more bondage. God desires for each of us to grace in His grace and learn more of Him. We are to live by grace and depend upon God for all things. God’s grace is an ever flowing stream for us to reach down and drink from, but do we? Do we seek God’s grace or do we try to live by the law? The law will only bring bondage but grace will provide true freedom. Freedom from sin and the ability to serve God freely. Today may we be under God’s grace!
