Psalm 91:2 – I will say of the LORD, he is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in Him will I trust.
What a beautiful verse to take a look at! This verse is a great reminder of what the LORD is to be to us. Remeber the word LORD means: JEHOVAH – The self-existent almighty God of this universe. Look at what the LORD is to us: our refuge: a place in which can run to a find shelter. How great is that! A shelter in the storms of life. Then we see that the LORD is our fotress: a strong defense, a place that we can hide in and find safety. Do you need some help defending yourself? God can help because He is a fortress for His children.
Notice also that there are many personal pronouns in this verse, 5 to be exact. This is a very personal verse, one that each believer can claim yet only you can do it. No one else can put these words in your mouth, they must come from your lips. You must believe that the God you serve is your refuge and your fortress! You must claim that and recognize it for yourself. When the world crashes down on you God will be there but will you see that He is the shelter and defense that you need? Trust Him, He is YOUR GOD!
