Tangled Up!

Have you ever gone out to the garage or shed to look for an extension cord? You finally find the extension cord and you go to use it but it is all tangled up! Then for what seems like the next few hours you try to untangle the cord! Not a fun moment and one that tries your patience.

II Timothy 2:4 says, “No man that warreth entagleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.”

What a great verse and wonderful advice! As believers we are to avoid the things in this world that will tangle us up. We must be constantly on the look out for the different ways that this tried to entangle us: money, power, fame, looks, drugs, alcohol, sex, popularity, philosophies. There are all kinds of ways to get entangled but we must be wise, courageous, and willing to avoid these traps. Be always on the look out for the world’s tangles!

We also have a great reason to avoid these traps or entanglements, God Himself. We are to please God! As a believer we owe everything we have to God and a great way to show appreciation is to avoid getting tangled up in the world’s traps. We must strive to follow God, stay close and have open eyes to the tangles that this throws our way! The best way to untangle your life is to never get any tangles! Strive to avoid the tangles of this world!
